Courses

All of our courses consist of two components: Online course work through NauticED and practicing that knowledge aboard a sailing yacht. We have teamed up with Sailing Virgins to offer extended overnight sailing -- during these courses students will live aboard a yacht, spending each night docked or anchored at various around the world. We also provide daysailing opportunities throughout the USA. Al the knowledge acquired through the rigorous online course work will be reinforced and tested/drilled during hands-on sailing. 
This is a 4 to 8 hour course that consists of sailing on Lake Travis or Corpus Christi. The day of sailing will take students through the general paces of sailing. ​​​
  • Students will first enroll in the online Qualified Crew course through NauticED. The knowledge they acquire through the online course will be reinforced and tested/drilled during the hands-on sailing.

This is a 2 day course that consists of sailing on Lake Travis or Corpus Christi. The weekend of sailing will take students through the a slightly more rigorous paces of sailing. 
  • Students will first enroll in the online Qualified Crew course through NauticED. The knowledge they acquire through the online course will be reinforced and tested/drilled during the hands-on sailing.

This is a 9 day course that consists of 7 days of sailing and 2 days for traveling to and from the British Virgin Islands. The 7 days of sailing will take students through the paces while living aboard a 40 foot sailing yacht.
  • Students will first complete the online Qualified Crew course through NauticED. The knowledge they acquire through the online course will be reinforced and tested/drilled during the hands-on sailing.
  • ​After completion of the one week course, students will be experienced and competent crew ready to step aboard any yacht. This ranking, along with the hours and miles of sailing, will provide students an excellent jumping-off point from which a life time of yachting can thrive.  ​

Leadership and Team Building
  • Students will engage in leadership roles while piloting the yacht: giving commands and instructions to the crew. 
  • As a team students will plot courses and ensure the yacht stays on course.
  • Working together students will engage in actives which require communication, coordinated action, and problem solving.

High School Astronomy Credit

We are currently working with several school districts to be able to provide Astronomy Credit on some of our sailing trips. No better way to learn about the stars than sailing under them.
